Mobile labs for students flagged off

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday flagged off mobile school and community science laboratories for five blocks of south Odisha.

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday flagged off mobile school and community science laboratories for five blocks of south Odisha.
More than 25,000 students from 250 elementary and secondary schools would be able to avail new innovative learning experiences through these mobile labs which are mounted with science equipment, application models and charts as per the curriculum of schools.

These vehicle will also carry all audio-visual apparatus. With solar power back-up system, the labs will support science and mathematics learning through audio-visual communication and simulation experiments.
The vehicles are also fitted with GPS trackers to provide real-time data on movement of labs which will cover Muniguda, Bissamcuttack, Thuamul Rampur, Lanjigarh and Kothgarh blocks.

This initiative has been taken by State Government in collaboration with TCS Foundation and Tata Trusts, he added. Secretary, School & Mass Education Ranjana Chopra; Secretary, Panchayati Raj DK Singh; Secretary, Health Department Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda and Secretary, Science & Technology Department Vir Vikram Yadav were present.
