Confiscation of Odisha IFS officer’s property ordered

 A Special Vigilance Court here on Saturday ordered the confiscation of property of a retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Laxmidhar Bhoi in a graft case.

BHUBANESWAR:  A Special Vigilance Court here on Saturday ordered the confiscation of property of a retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Laxmidhar Bhoi in a graft case.

The court ordered the confiscation of Bhoi's residential building at Angul which was estimated at `8.28 lakh approximately. 

Bhoi, ex-DFO of Kendu Leaf Division, Kuchinda, was convicted by the court on charges of amassing property worth Rs 8.06 lakh which was disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Vigilance had submitted a chargesheet against Bhoi for amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 11.87 lakh. However, the court found evidence of Rs 8.06 lakh disproportionate assets of him and awarded him two years jail term and three-lakh rupee fine in June 2016.
