JAGATSINGHPUR: Medicos and medical staff deployed at the swine flu wards are worried as none of the hospitals and health centres in Jagstinghpur district have stocked H1N1 vaccines.On Friday, Bijaya Sahu of Kerekera village in Tirtol of the district who was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack succumbed to swine flu. A week back, a woman Shanti Das of Kontia village under Tirtol had died of the disease.

Following these two deaths, all medical officers and para-medical staff in government-run hospitals were asked to take preventive vaccines. However, no vaccines have been made available by the government and the same are selling at `700 to `800 in the private medicine shops.Additional District Medical Officer (Public Health) Maheswer Pradhan said higher authorities in the health department have been apprised of the situation.
