Miscreant fires at man for resisting loot

A man was shot in his left leg in Sijua under Khandagiri police limits in the City on Sunday evening while resisting a loot bid.

BHUBANESWAR: A man was shot in his left leg in Sijua under Khandagiri police limits in the City on Sunday evening while resisting a loot bid. The injured has been identified as Biswaranjan Swain of Aiginia.Biswaranjan and his wife Monalisa Balwantray were going from CRP Square to his mother-in-law’s house in Sijua. While entering the house, Monalisa was intercepted by two bike-borne miscreants. One of the miscreants got off from the motorcycle and tried to snatch chain from Monalisa, which she protested.

Biswaranjan immediately stepped out of the car and nabbed the miscreant. In a bid to flee from the spot, the miscreant opened fire at him and shot in his left leg. The two miscreants then fled from the spot.
“The man was shot in his leg while he tried to nab the miscreants. The injured man was rushed to a private hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. We have launched a search operation to nab the miscreants involved in the crime,” Khandagiri police said.Sources said, Biswaranjan is the son of a retired police official who was posted in Khandagiri police station.
