BHUBANESWAR: The State BJP on Wednesday alleged that some leaders and Ministers of the ruling BJD have links with the two Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs arrested in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam.

Without revealing the names, BJP MLA Pradeep Purohit said a Minister in the Naveen Patnaik Government had recently met West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC president Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.

Purohit further alleged that two BJD Ministers had met some TMC leaders during their visit to West Bengal to celebrate Odisha Diwas. There is a need for an investigation into this aspect by the CBI to find out the BJD link with Rose Valley business in Odisha.

On the other hand, president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Prasad Harichandan demanded that Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik should be arrested in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam in the manner in which Sudip Bandyopadhyay was held on the basis of Tapas Paul’s accusation.
But the CBI will not touch Naveen as he has a tacit  understanding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Harichandan said.

Refuting these allegations, BJD spokesperson Rabi Narayan Nanda said the Opposition parties are making wild allegations without any proof. He dared the BJP to name the Ministers with evidence.
