In a complaint filed at Kharvel Nagar police station, Managing Director (MD) of Pulak Mohanty Construction Empires Private Limited, Ajay Kumar Swain alleged that two bike-borne miscreants snatched the money from him near Narula Fitness First. The fitness centre is barely a few metres from traffic post and Kharavel Nagar police station.

Ajay said he had withdrawn the money from ICICI Bank in the area and was going on his motorcycle to deposit the amount in Axis Bank at around 12.45 pm when the miscreants snatched the bag from him. As he fell down, the miscreants fled towards Master Canteen with the bag of cash, said Ajay. Police investigation is on.

Earlier in the year, unidentified persons had looted `54,000 and valuables from the car of BJD legislator Byomkesh Ray near Master Canteen Square. Though Ray’s driver was in the car, the miscreants diverted his attention and made away with the loot.
