Aska bandh observed

Normal life was hit in Aska on Saturday following a bandh called by the members local Bar association demanding formation of Aska revenue sub-division.

ASKA:Normal life was hit in Aska on Saturday following a bandh called by the members local Bar association demanding formation of Aska revenue sub-division.

While roads such as Berhampur-Phulbani, Berhampur-Nayagarh, Aska-Khallikote, Aska-Purushotampur, Aska-Sorada and Aska- Polasara were blocked by the agitators, all government offices and commercial establishments were closed.

Later, the agitators submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through the local tehsildar. They are also demanding upgradation of Aska NAC to a municipality and development of Aska community health centre.

 Police made adequate security arrangements and no untoward incident was reported.
