BHUBANESWAR: At least 67,200 students of Bhubaneswar Region of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have passed in Class X examinations, the results for which were declared on Saturday. The overall pass percentage in Bhubaneswar Region has came down from 96.27 per cent (pc) last year to 92.15 pc this year. 


The results were published on the Board's official website in different phases for all the 10 regions across the country while Bhubaneswar Region's results were announced in the last phase at around 5 pm. A total 72,000 students appeared CBSE Class X in the region which covers three states - Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. In Odisha, around 23,080 students appeared the exams, CBSE sources said.


Students of a number of schools in the Capital City have excelled in the Class X examinations with at least 700 students securing 10 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) results.


While total 296 students appeared the examinations in DAV Chandrasekharpur, 138 got 10 CGPA marks. Similarly, in DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, 102 students out of 273, who appeared the Class X examinations, have scored 10 CGPA. Over 99 per cent of the students passed the examinations with first division marks.


In Mother's Public School, 91 students appeared the Class X examinations out of which 42 have scored more than 90 per cent marks. All students of the school have passed with first division.
At least 53 students of ODM Public School and 56 of Delhi Public School, Kalinga have scored 10 CGPA marks.


All the students of KIIT International School have been placed in first division with 30 per cent of them scoring 10 CGPA while more than 50 per cent secured 9 CGPA.
Total 184 students took the tests in DAV Pokhariput out of which 59 have scored 10 CGPA while 118 students have secured between 9 and 10 CGPA.


Similarly, 205 students took the tests in St Xavier's High School, Khandagiri. Out of which, 75 students got 10 CGPA and 68 students secured between 9 and 9.8 CGPA. The school has achieved 100 per cent results.


In Vikash Residential School, 68 out of 146 students scored 10 CGPA. The school registered 100 per cent results with 16 student securing 9.8 CGPA and 119 passing with more than 9 CGPA grades.
In the wake of alleged discrepancies in the recently published results of CBSE Class XII, the students were apprehensive about their scores as the results for the region were published in the final phase.

"The process of Class X results publication was smooth and all our candidates retrieved their scores in a hassle-free manner," an official of a city-based school said.
