SAMBALPUR: AN e-Learning Centre constructed at a cost of `10.5 crore was inaugurated at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology at Burla on Sunday. Inaugurating the centre on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of the premier institution, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also announced that an Incubation and Entrepreneur Development Centre would soon operate from this academic year in VSSUT. He said the centre will be helpful in creating and nurturing new entrepreneurs from this region. Encouraging start-ups and new entrepreneurs is the priority of the State Government,  he added.

The State Government accords highest priority to excellence in the field of engineering and skill development of youths in rural areas, the Chief Minister said.  Lauding the role of VSSUT in strengthening technical education in the State, Naveen said he would like to see VSSUT as a hub of creative and innovative learning and dedicate itself to teaching and research.
 

The Chief Minister also inaugurated Biju Patnaik e-Learning Centre, laid foundation stone for new boys’ hostel, academic block and multipurpose administrative block-cum-amphitheatre on VSSUT campus. Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sanjay Kumar Dasburma was present.
Later, the Chief Minister went to Sambalpur University at Burla to attend the golden jubilee celebration of the institution. Naveen said  the authorities in charge need to impart not knowledge,  skills and the right attitude.  

Later, Naveen attended the State-level mega camp for distribution of aids and appliances besides DRI (Differential Rate of Interest) loan assistance to around 2,049 differently- abled persons from Sambalpur, Koraput, Sundargarh and Deogarh districts at PHED ground at Ainthapali.
He also laid foundation stone for an Integrated Infrastructure Complex for the differently-abled persons at Basantpur and inaugurated a cold storage at Sason from the PHED ground. The Chief Minister was flanked by Women and Child Development Minister Usha Devi and Handlooms Minister Snehangini Chhuria.
