Crime branch in Odisha recommends attachment of bank accounts of fraud marketing firm

Lakshya, a Maharastra-based firm had invited franchise holders for marketing these products apart from selling insurance schemes of reputed firms.

BHUBANESWAR:The Crime Branch on Wednesday submitted a proposal to the Finance Department to attach the bank account of Lakshya Level Marketing Pvt Ltd which had collected huge deposits from public in Odisha on the pretext of marketing expensive items such as gold and diamond jewellery and consumer appliances.

Lakshya, a Maharashtra-based firm, had invited franchise holders to market these products apart from selling insurance schemes of reputed firms. The company had collected huge deposits online and currently, there is a balance of `7 crore in its bank account, CB sources said.

The company operated in the State between April, 2008 and July, 2009 and subsequently, defaulted payments to the investors. After the firm ceased its operations, the investors lodged a complaint with the CB on the basis of which its directors were arrested.
