The chief minister said he visited the organic mushroom centre managed by the students and expressed his happiness about the returns they get from the project.

BHUBANESHWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone of various infrastructure projects in the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).

He inaugurated the new class room and examination hall of college of forestry. Well known agriculturist Kamala Pujari was felicitated by him. Though it was not in the official programme, the chief minister met students and interacted with them. He also visited firms in the OUAT.

The chief minister said he visited the organic mushroom centre managed by the students and expressed his happiness about the returns they get from the project.

"Nikita and her friends from BSc (Agriculture) students presented a pack of organic mushrooms. Thanks to her, I had a delicious mushroom curry for lunch. Perhaps the taste was multiplied by the affection showered by the students," he said.

The chief minister also visited the maize research fields of students and interacted with them on how the research outcome can be utilised by the farmers. "It is always so satisfying to visit an educational institution and interact with the students, the future of our state and country," he said.
