BHUBANESWAR: Aftersuccessfully roping in investment proposals worth `1,11,500 crore to Odisha within five months of Make In Odisha conclave, the Government has taken the initiative to fine tune the reform mechanism further to make the process of doing business easier in the State.

A high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi reviewed the efficacy of reforms programme introduced so far to simplify the procedure for ease of doing business.
Padhi directed the departments concerned to ensure 100 per cent implementation of the reforms already notified by the Government. The meeting deliberated on Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP)-2017. Of the 405 points pertaining to 18 departments suggested in the action plan, 12 were found not applicable. While 235 action points related to 47 services should be made available online, the departments have so far complied with 173 points. A compendium of reforms introduced till date have been put on the website http://www.investodisha.org/eodb/compedium for information of investors.The Chief Secretary directed the departments to complete the reform process and its implementation by October 31, 2017 without fail.
The meeting further decided to have regular review of implementation of the reforms at various levels. It was decided that each department would designate a nodal officer for the purpose at department level.
Secretary of the department concerned would take a weekly review while the Industries Department will take a fortnightly review with the nodal officers.
While the Chief Secretary would take monthly review, a bi-monthly review on the reform initiatives would be held at the level of the Chief Minister.
