BHUBANESWAR: The School and Mass Education Department on Monday signed two separate MoUs with Akshara Foundation and Kusuma Foundation under Odisha learning project for benefit of students of both elementary and secondary schools.

The MoUs were signed in presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Under the mathematical learning programme with Akshara Foundation, 4200 primary schools in Balangir and Rayagada districts will benefit directly. Under the programme, focused teaching in Mathematics for students from Class 1 to V will be provided. Each school will be given one set of teaching learning material.

In the programme with Kusuma Foundation, a remedial teaching programme for Class IX students will be introduced in KBK districts and later extended to other districts. The students of Class IX will be prepared for HSC examination and their knowledge in various subjects will be assessed. After a baseline assessment, an intensive programme for coaching with help of worksheets will be taken up.

Both the programmes will be monitored by a project evaluation cell to be set up by the Kusuma Foundation.
