RAYAGADA:A crack was detected on the railway track at Ambodola railway station on Thursday barely two hours before the arrival of Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Hirkhand Express. Some commuters, waiting on the platform, alerted the Station Master about the crack. On being informed, Station Master R R Kumar diverted the train to another platform. This was the second time that such an incident has taken place on the same route within a month.
Earlier, a similar incident was reported at a place between Muniguda and Ambodola railway station. The employees, who had helped in preventing a mishap, were awarded by the Railways. Meanwhile, sources said the crack has been repaired. The Railway authorities of Sambalpur claimed said there is no need to panic. The technical staffers would examine the reason behind the development of the crack.
