Police arrest two for forcing minor to strip before camera in Odisha's Baripada

Police said that the video was allegedly shot at Jyotipur village, a picnic spot near here in April when the girl had gone there with an engineering student from her village.

BARIPADA: Police today arrested two young men for allegedly forcing a minor girl to strip in front of the camera, shots of which have gone viral in the social media.

Though the incident had allegedly taken place on April 4 this year, the girl's father lodged an FIR with the police here today after the shots went viral on Wednesday.

"Three young men were involved in the incident. We have arrested two of them, while another is absconding,"

Mayurbhanj superintendent of police Anirudha Singh said.

The two were arrested under different sections of IPC, IT ACT and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012, he said.

It was intially thought that the incident had occured in Bhubaneswar but after watching the video it was concluded that it had taken place in Baripada, Bhuabneswar-Cuttack commissioner of police Y B Khurania said adding he had informed the Mayurbhanj superintendent of police of it.

Police said that the video was allegedly shot at Jyotipur village, a picnic spot near here in April when the girl had gone there with an engineering student from her village. The three young men then purpotedly forced her to disrobe and filmed it.

The arrested, aged 25 and 26, hail from Jyotipur, the police added.
