JHARSUGUDA: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan will dedicate the `140-crore automated Jharsuguda terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Malimunda on Wednesday. Informing this here on Monday, senior IOCL officials said accelerated development of the eastern States is a focus area of the Union Government and the biggest oil terminal of Odisha at Jharsuguda is yet another milestone for uninterrupted and automated delivery of fuel supply to 10 districts like Bargarh, Balangir, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Nuapada. The terminal has safe and efficient TT Bottom loading, automated quality and quantity control, automated scheduling and tank farm management facilities. The project will also generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities in the area, they informed.

They said the total tank capacity has been upgraded to 49,000 kilo litres (coverage of 22 days) with 2200 KL per day sale of petrol, diesel and kerosene to cater to more than 350 sale points within a radius of 550 km for round the year supply.Similarly, the renovation of oil depot at Jatni in Khurda is being carried out at a cost of `70 crore to cater to 13 districts including Angul, Boudh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Phulbani, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Kalahandi.

These projects receive petroleum products through 1069 km long Paradip-Raipur-Ranchi pipeline at an investment of `1100 crore. The total investment in the three projects stands at `1310 crore, they added.
The inaugural ceremony of the terminal will also be attended by Industries Minister Niranjan Pujari, Bargarh MP Prabhas Kumar Singh and MLAs Naba Kishore Das and Radharani Panda.
