British army cartridges found

Jeypore police on Thursday recovered a cache of ammunition, used by the British army, from an abandoned septic tank near DIC office here.

JEYPORE:Jeypore police on Thursday recovered a cache of ammunition, used by the British army, from an abandoned septic tank near DIC office here. Police had received information regarding dumping of cartridges in the septic tank from local sources.

A team of police officials rushed to the spot and cleaned the tank. About 1,000 types of different live cartridges, made in London, were recovered.Police suspect that the ammunition might have been stolen from Jeypore Raj Palace in early 70’s and unutilised cartridges dumped by the  criminals. Jeypore ASP PK Pradhan said investigation is on.
