BHUBANESWAR: A 12-member European Union delegation met Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department LN Gupta here on Friday to understand and learn from the Startup Odisha ecosystem.
Gupta delivered a presentation and appraised the delegation, led by Tania Friederichs, First Counsellor and Head of Research and Innovation, EU about the Odisha Startup Policy, Startup Portal and benefits offered to startups.
Friederichs appreciated the benefits offered to the startups under the Startup Odisha Initiative and recognition to 175 Startups in a period of 10 months. She proposed to extend network benefits from EU and work out collaboration in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship.The EU delegation was also given a presentation on Smart City Initiatives by vice chairman of BDA Dr Krishan Kumar. The members showed their interest in electric vehicles, energy efficiency, urban transport and renewable energy components and praised the various of initiatives of the State Government under the Smart City Project.
Friederichs said they would like to carry forward the dialogue in terms of workshops and meetings and form a concrete plan of collaboration. The EU members also offered to share their best practices and experiences with the Government of Odisha.
