MALKANGIRI :District Collector Manish Agarwal on Saturday assessed the situation in areas affected by heavy rainfall in the district. Agarwal visited Kalimela Kanyashram bridge on Kalimela-Podia road, Motu, Mugi point, Sileru and Potteru bridge which were affected due to the deluge.

He interacted with residents of the affected areas and assured them all help by the district administration. Collector said water is receding in all the affected areas and there is no reason to worry. “We are monitoring the situation”, he said, adding that the district administration is ready to meet any eventuality.

Heavy downpour had disrupted communication between Malkangiri and other places as rainwater submerged the low-lying areas flowing over bridges on Malkangiri-Kalimela-Motu , Malkangiri-Balimela and Malkangiri-Jeypore State Highway.
