BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Revenue Service Association (ORSA) has threatened to launch cease-work agitation in the State from July 2 over their demands.
According to the association secretary Hitansu Sekhar Samal before the cease-work, revenue officials will launch a protest wearing black-badge from June 25. At our meeting with the Minister on March 8, we had raised several issues including hike in grade pay from Rs 4,600 to Rs 5,400 and up-gradation of our rank from ORS to ORS-I cadre as ORS officers are performing equivalent works of OAS I (JB) and shouldering equal responsibilities.
They said the government has relaxed norms for promotion of RIs to ORS from 10 years experience to 5 years, the association demanded relaxation in norms for promotion of ORS officials and reducing it to 3 years against the current six years. They also sought timely promotion and increment. While ORS cadre officials were supposed to get promotion to 287 Class I posts laying vacant, only 40 have been accredited.
