CUTTACK: THE Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday filed an FIR at Directorate of Vigilance here over misutilisation of Srimandir Foundation Fund. Alleging gross misutilisation of Sri Mandir Foundation Fund in respect of safe custody and maintenance of valuable ornaments received through donations, BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty has lodged the FIR with ADG, Vigilance against Srimandir Foundation Fund Committee Chairman Naveen Patnaik and five other members including Law Minister; Secretary, Law Department; Secretary, Finance Department; Puri Collector; Chief Administrator of Sri Mandir under different sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.

Violating rules 7 of Sri Mandir Temple Act 1960, valuable ornaments received through donations were kept first in Najir Khana and then in State Bank Locker instead of keeping those in Ratna Bhandar, the FIR maintained. Out of total 18 kg and 261 gram gold ornaments, while 14 kg and 560 gram of ornaments were shifted to SBI locker, there is no concrete calculation and whereabout of the rest 3 kg and 701 gram of ornaments, the FIR alleged.
