BHUBANESWAR: Minutes after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the hike of healthcare package up to Rs 7 lakh for women under the Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana (BSKY) on Wednesday, Twitterati from across the country started showering appreciation terming it a path-breaking step. Much to the delight of the social media think-tank of Naveen Government, the hashtag #OdishaForWomen continued to trend on twitter for more than five hours. “Effective schemes are taking rural women of Odisha on the path to development,” tweeted Muskaan Kataria (@candy_floss29).

Another twitterati said, CM Naveen Patnaik is well aware of the fact that financial empowerment of women is the secret of any State’s development. It’s a historic decision in the country on providing welfare to women at a large, she said.
