BHUBANESWAR: Acting on a complaint filed on October 15 that a person had created a WhatsApp group in the name of another man and had added many users without their consent, a case was registered. As the miscreant was the admin of the WhatsApp group, he was able to send obscene pictures and objectionable contents to other members.
Agarwal had created the WhatsApp group in the name of Girdharilal Gallan of IRC Village for defaming him over past enmity. On learning of his whereabouts, a team of Crime Branch officers visited Haryana to nab the accused. "The accused was nabbed by the team on October 17 with the assistance of Mahendragarh Police.
The mobile phone and SIM card used for committing the offence were also seized," a Crime Branch officer said.The accused was produced before a court in Narnaul before being brought to Odisha on transit remand. Agarwal was produced before a court in Bhubaneswar on October 18.
