An automobile store of Cuttack is facing charges of cheating after about 30 investors lodged a complaint with Economic Offences Wing (EOW) here on Monday seeking an investigation. The two-wheeler showroom had reportedly floated a scheme under which a person could invest `2,000 a month for 25 months. After that, the investor was offered a choice of taking home a two-wheeler or the deposit back. Every month, a lottery was also drawn from among the investors and winner was assured a two-wheeler. However, when the last scheme matured in September, the complaint said, some investors wanted their money back. The store owner assured the payment but allegedly kept delaying it prompting the investors to lodge a complaint with EOW.
