SAMBALPUR: The Koshal Kranti Dal (KKD), a regional political party has released its election manifesto for the ensuing poll.
Demand for formation of a separate Koshal state tops the lists of promises in the manifesto besides many western Orissa specific issues.
President of Central Committee of KKD, Pramod Mishra said formation of the new state was the only solution to put to an end growing regional imbalances besides brewing resentment of the region and their ill-feelings towards people of the coastal belt.
Maintaining that this has been a long pending demand of the region, Mishra said it was unfortunate that public representatives of the region never raised their voice against imbalances.
The other issues which finds mention in the manifesto include inclusion of Koshali language in the eighth Schedule of the Constitution, social and economic alleviation of tribals and Dalits of the region, land for the landless and irrigation facilities.
The KKD has fielded upto 20 candidates for the state assembly while three candidates are in the fray for Lok Sabha seats in Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sundargarh.
