A court here today orderedissue of summons to DMDK chief and Leader of the Opposition inTamil Nadu Assembly Vijaykanth to appear before it on December6 in connection with a defamation case filed against him bythe state government.
Nilgiris District Public Prosecutor Ananthakrishnansubmitted that Vijaykanth during a meeting here on August 22had made some alleged derogatory remarks against ChiefMinister Jayalalithaa, damaging her reputation.
When the case came up today, District Sessions JudgePremkumar ordered issuance of summons to Vijaykanth to appearbefore him on December 6.
