Over 81 crore poor in the country will benefit from the Food Security Act that would be implemented by the Government of India soon, said Union Shipping Minister G K Vasan.
While distributing educational scholarships to the tune of Rs1 crore to 600 poor students, under the aegis of the Sri Narayani Peedam on Sunday, the minister said, this year the Centre had allotted Rs 27,258 crore for education and implementation of the RTE Act would help 20 crore children. He lauded the efforts taken by the peedam to provide healthcare service to rural people.
