The State unit of the BJP has decided to stage a protest, ‘Kadal Thamarai’ (Sea Lotus), led by Leader of Opposition in Parliament Sushma Swaraj at Pamban in Ramanathapuram district on January 31 to condemn the atrocities committed by the SL Navy against Tamil Nadu fishermen, said Radhakrishnan here on Friday.
Speaking to the media persons on the sidelines of the one-day election training camp for office bearers from across the state, Radhakrishnan said that the people of Tamil Nadu would never forget the genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka. “Sri Lanka was able to executed this brutality only because the Congress-led UPA government backed the island nation,” he charged.

Besides, the party was also expecting a positive response from the DMDK. “Captain will take right decision at the appropriate time”, Radhakrishnan hoped and informed that his party’s prime ministerial candidate Modi would visit Chennai by mid-January.
The BJP state unit, which has been rigorously preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, is expected to complete the entire process of training programme for party workers by February end and get ready to face the election with full vigour from March, said Pon Radhakrishnan.
Radhakrishnan said that the party has planned to collect steel for the mega statue for Sardar Patel from January 12 to 17 and the collected material would be sent to Gujarat on January 28 from Chennai, he said.
