DMK’s suspended south Zone organising secretary M K Alagiri on Wednesday put the blame on his younger brother M K Stalin for the latest fiasco in the party.
Answering a query from a national television channel on Karunanidhi’s letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking additional security for Stalin, Alagiri said, “ Stalin might have threatened somebody or would have caused harm to some one”.
When asked about Stalin’s supporters burning his effigy, he said, “How can you say they were Stalin supporters. Even if it is the truth, I will accept it as my birthday gift.”
Alagiri categorically denied making a statement that he would release documentary evidence in connection with DMK’s irregularities during the party election on January 31. When asked whether DMK high command had taken any initiative for a compromise with him, he said, “How is it possible when newspapers reported that the high command has issued show cause notice to dismiss me from the party”.
