VILLUPURAM : Robbers decamped with 10 sovereigns of jewels and `10,000 cash from the house of a judge in Tindivanam on Monday night.
According to sources, the burglary occurred when Rama Parthiban, the Principal Sub-judge in a Tindivanam court, had locked the house at Indira Nagar and was camping in the government guest house as the air-conditioner in his residence developed a snag.
The robbery came to light when the judge returned on Tuesday morning and found the door open. He entered the house and found that items worth `2.3 lakh including 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery and `10,000 cash were missing. He informed the Tindivanam police officials who rushed to the spot and collected evidence.
