Finding No Cash for Liquor, Man Kills Self

VILLUPURAM:  A 55-year-old farmer committed suicide by taking poisonous seeds on Monday since his wife refused to give him money for liquor, police said.

The farmer Aiyulu from Thavadipattu village near Kallakuruchi was addicted to alcohol. For the past few months, he had taken to drinking, giving work a miss.

On Monday morning, he asked money from his wife Chinnamal to buy liquor, but she refused and went out for work. Aiyulu attempted suicide by consuming poisonous Arali (Cerberamanghas) seeds. He was taken to Salem GH where he died.
