Stalin on Poll Mode, Plans 234-seat Tour

DMK announced that MK Stalin will undertake more than a month mass contact programme in all 234 constituencies of the State.

CHENNAI: Switching to election mode, the DMK on Thursday announced that party treasurer MK Stalin will undertake more than a month-long mass contact programme in all the 234 constituencies of the State from September 25 to November 8. It will begin in Kanyakumari and end in Kanchipuram, TKS Elangovan, DMK organising secretary, said and added that Stalin will meet all sections of people including farmers, fishermen, weavers, women, students, entrepreneurs, engineers, teachers, advocates and government employees during the visit.

Elangovan, who made the announcement, told reporters that the tour would focus on forming a government that works with foresight for the progress of the State.

The organisers believe that the tour titled ‘Namakku Naamey’ will help Stalin understand expectations of the people and elicit their views by interacting with them during the tour programme, the party spokesperson said.

The objective of the tour programme will be expanded utilising modern technological facilities and communication equipment. The tour programme will include town hall meetings, public meetings, road side meetings, padayatras, moving around villages, besides interaction with the party cadre at the ground level.

The issues before the people and the suggestions of the public would be compiled as a report and added to the manifesto of the DMK for the Assembly elections, Elangovan said.
