Ex-AIADMK Councillor's Bro Stabbed

CHENNAI:  A 44-year-old brother of a former civic body member and an AIADMK functionary was hacked following a drunken brawl in a TASMAC shop on Monday night, but is in stable condition in a hospital.

Police said Palani, (44), a resident of Market Lane, Kaladipet near Thiruvottiyur, and elder brother of Ravi, a former AIADMK councillor, picked up a quarrel during a drinking session and left for home late in the night.  In Thaangal, a four member gang on two bikes intercepted him and stabbed him.

Palani was admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
