Jayalalithaa Expels Party Functionary in Salem

CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday expelled Mohammed Hussain, a party functionary in Sooramangalam in Salem town, for acting against the principles and ideals of the party.  She also directed the party cadre not to have any truck with him.

Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa condoled the death of Jeeva, a party functionary in Kodungaiyur, who had committed suicide by hanging. Conveying her heartfelt condolences to the family of Jeeva, Jayalalithaa said the cadre had taken this extreme steps out of some worries about the party leadership.

Reiterating her appeal to the party cadre not to end their lives, she announced a financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to the family of Jeeva.
