PUDUCHERRY: Ramachandran, a student of Class IX in Thiru Vi Ka Government High School here was severely caned allegedly by his science teacher on Friday.
His father Kolanjinathan, a mason residing in Saram found that his son had not changed his shirt on retuning from school on Friday and enquired about it, when Ramachandran revealed the episode at school. The boy told him that he was beaten up as he failed to do his science home work. On removing the shirt, the father found that Ramachandran was beaten black and blue, with marks all over his back and shoulder. He rushed to the school to confront the teacher, but she had left. The boy was taken to IGGGH & PGI where he received medical attention and a medico-legal case was registered.
