The value of the beautifully sculpted idols was put at Rs one crore and they were 120 years old. Teppakulam police who were looking for the culprits got the information that there was a move to smuggle the idols in a car, and started checking the vehicles, and alerted the Avaniapuram police also.

Police in the meanwhile got another information that the idols had been abandoned on the mud road leading to the air port and searched the road, where they found the Idols.
