Bihar Man Arrested With Fake Currency

COIMBATORE: The Crime Branch - Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) on Monday arrested a 25-year-old man from Bihar and seized 38 fake Indian currency notes from him, each with the face value of `1,000.

On Monday, the accused A Rajendra Tanti (25) from Lakhisarai district in Bihar visited a mobile phone shop at Thiyagi Kumaran Street in the city and bought a mobile phone. He handed over a `1,000 currency note. The shop owner was suspicious about the genuineness of the note and he immediately alerted police.

The man was taken to the office of the counterfeit currency wing of the CB-CID and during the course of enquiry police seized 38 fake currency notes with the face value of `1,000 from him.
