Mass Prayers Mark Ramzan Celebrations

COIMBATORE:Disseminating the message of peace, harmony and charity, the Muslim brothers here celebrated Ramzan on Saturday with great fervour. Mass prayers were organised in hundreds of Muslim Community Centres here, and thousands of devotees participated in the prayers.

The mass prayer organised at the Islamic Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Karumbukadai at 8.30 am to 9 am turned out to be the big venue of mass prayer on Saturday, with over 10,000 devotees participating in the prayers.

Mass prayers were held in Tipu Sultan Masjid, Vadakovai Masjid and the Flower Market Masjid also.

During the prayers, Imam Abdul Gafoor told the people to remember that the importance of Ramzan is for them to be a good human being, and fasting is to heal the heart from all sorts of hatred feelings towards anybody. He also reminded the need to give alms and charity.
