Thief Held,Five Bikes Confiscated

VELLORE: A 23-year-old habitual offender was arrested by a Gudiyattam police official and confiscated five bikes that was in his possession on Sunday morning.

The offender was identified as B Vallavan, a resident of Pernambut. According to a police, officials while doing routine vehicle checks on Shebali Junction Road stopped Vallavan who had no documents for his bike. He confessed to the crime that he had robbed the bike months ago in Gudiyattam during the check.

After preliminary inquiries, police officials confiscated four more bikes from Vallavan. “He sells illicit liquor in the locality and has been behind bars  many times. He has stolen many bikes using duplicate keys. Further inquiry is on,” said an official.

A case has been registered and he was remanded in Vellore Central Prison for Men.
