COIMBATORE: The Popular Front of India (PIF) condemned the hanging of Yakub Memon at the Nagpur Jail on Thursday morning, after being convicted for involvement in the 1993 serial bomb blasts at Mumbai.
Speaking to mediapersons in the city, State General Secretary M Mohamed Shaik Ansari termed the act as well planned murder, as per the law.
“The party is not only raising voice for Yakub Memon, but against all executions. Though Yakub Memon has surrendered before the court, his repeated mercy pleas were rejected. The BJP government is acting against the minorities,” he said.
“Not only the party, human rights association and members of NGO across the country are condemning the execution of Yakub Memon,” added Mohamed Shaik Ansari.
