IRBn Cop in Soup for Exam Fraud

PUDUCHERRY: A constable with the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), who allegedly indulged in malpractices in a competitive examination held for the selection of Lower Division Clerks on Sunday, was suspended.

A top official of the IRBn said cop Surender, who was a candidate for the skill test for the post of LDC in JIPMER, was suspended following a complaint from the JIPMER authorities.

Sources said the IRBn constable Surender managed to sneak in his mobile phone inside the examination hall. He took the photo of the question paper and sent it to his friends via WhatsApp. The friends in turn got the correct answers and sent him back.

The supervising officer grew suspicious after noticing mobile phone on him. He then caught Surender and reported the matter to the officials, who conducted the examination. The answer paper was seized and he was asked to leave the examination hall, the sources said.

The JIPMER authorities lodged a complaint with D’ Nagar police station.
