PUDUCHERRY: Contending that the number of labourers in the unorganised sector has gone up considerably and pointing to acts evolved in some States to ensure social protection of the labourers, the CITU, on Wednesday, urged the UT administration to set up a welfare board for labourers in the unorganised sector.
CITU secretary Nilavazhagan said that labourers do not have any financial assistance scheme, which they could utilise in times of difficulties.
