VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan said misappropriation to the tune of Rs 30 lakh had been found at Usilampatti in the implementation of the scheme, raising doubts that such malpractices could be occurring in many places in the State. CPM State secretary G Ramakrishnan said the audit done by the State government had found that fake accounts had been submitted claiming 1200 beneficiaries, when only 672 persons had benefited.
