PUDUCHERRY: At a function, JIPMER felicitated about 200 voluntary blood donors and 150 voluntary blood donation camp organisers on the occasion of the National Voluntary Blood donation month celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr S C Parija said that blood is very precious for saving lives and as blood cannot be produced, it can only be procured by voluntary blood donation. In present medical field, pregnant women deliver healthy babies, heart patients get operated, accident, surgery cases survive only because of blood. The blood is obtained from voluntary healthy blood donors as they provide safe and quality blood.
