National Book Fair From December 18

PUDUCHERRY: The 19th National Book Fair, organised by Puducherry Co-operative Book Society, will be held from December 18 to 27.

According to Panch Ramalingam, more than 75 book publishers, distributors and book sellers from across the country will participate in the fair, which will display more than one lakh books for a period of 10 days.

Several literary events such as quiz, essay, music programme, instrumental music, singing, elocution, poetry, drawing and painting competitions are lined up for the students, he said.

Besides offering 10 per cent discounts on all books, there are special considerations for institutions and libraries purchasing books in bulk, he added.

All kinds of books related to text books for schools, colleges and professional courses, various types of dictionaries, encyclopedias, computer related books, software CDs, learning tools through computers, literature, competitive studies, general readings such as cookery, self-improvement books will be on display.

He said this book fair will help the society to create a thirst for books and will help the development society.
