Relationship between Cabinet, Bedi 'cordial'

PUDUCHERRY: A day after an emotional outburst by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Kiran Bedi ended with her threatening to hang her boots as the administrator of Puducherry, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Monday sought to downplay it by dwelling on the cordial relationship between the former IPS officer and cabinet.

Out to fight fire after Bedi lashed out at the bureaucracy and the cabinet on Sunday over their indifference to her pet Swacch Puducherry campaign, Narayansamy, during an informal chat with the media, said that though the relationship between the LG and his cabinet was cordial, he would take steps to sort out “whatever little issues are there between us”.

Heaping praises on Bedi, Narayanasamy said the government implemented several schemes in the last two months owing to her cooperation. In the context of Puducherry, a UT, the comments assume significance as approval of the LG is paramount. When asked of the outburst, Narayanasamy maintained that their goals were similar.
