RAMESWARAM: About 40 goats were mowed down by a speeding train in Semmamadam near here today, railway police said.
The Tiruchi-Rameswaram passenger train ran over the goats that had strayed onto the railway track while grazing, they said.
The accident took place as the engine driver could not bring the train to a halt at that speed, railway police said.
