COIMBATORE: A TASMAC outlet and bar located in Muthalipalayam in Tirupur of Coimbatore district was vandalised by the locals on Wednesday morning.
According to the residents, the bar functioned for at least 18 hours regularly, and the tipplers were reportedly causing a nuisance.
The residents had already submitted petitions regarding this to the district collector more than thrice, demanding the closure of the outlet.
However, after no action was initiated against the TASMAC outlet, the locals came out in large number, protesting in front of the bar on Wednesday and ransacked it.
