COIMBATORE: A woman miraculously survived after she was tossed into the air by a speeding car on a highway in Tamil Nadu's Namakkal district.

The CCTV recording of the accident, which has gone viral on social media, shows G Priya, aged 30, crossing the highway on her scooter after checking for any approaching vehicle on the highway. However, she misjudged the speed of an oncoming white Maruti Swift Dzire, which in a matter of seconds, hit her scooter at a high-speed and flung her in the air.

The accident took place around 5 pm on Saturday.

Priya's family told Express on Sunday that doctors have assured them that despite the multiple fractures she suffered, she was not in danger. Priya's husband Gyanasekar said, "Her fractured bones are disturbing the lungs and she is having a little breathing trouble. However, the doctors said that it is treatable and she is out of danger. She has also suffered minor fractures in various parts of the body."

After initial treatment in a government hospital at Namakkal, the family shifted her to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
