Karunanidhi will return to public stage soon: Vaiko

DMK chief M Karunanidhi will return to public stage and his voice will echo again, said MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Tuesday.

CHENNAI: DMK chief M Karunanidhi will return to public stage and his voice will echo again, said MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Tuesday. Talking to reporters after meeting his mentor here,  he said, “He still has a good memory power. His voice will echo again. I pray Mother Nature for the complete recovery of Kalaignar soon.” DMK working president M K Stalin, Rajya Sabha Member Kanimozhi and senior leader Durai Murugan were also present at the meeting.

Turning nostalgic and sounding emotional, the MDMK leader, who spent 30 minutes at the residence of Karunanidhi, recalled his long association with the DMK patriarch, who is remaining indoors since October last year owing to failing health. He said Karunanidhi was able to identify him and his party presidium chairperson ‘Tirupur’ Doraisamy. Karunanidhi was appearing in his dreams for two months.
“When Stalin and Durai Murugan told him that I would participate in the Murasoli platinum jubilee public meeting on September 5, he was delighted.”

Vaiko met Karunanidhi after two years. He met with a bitter reception when he tried to visit Karunanidhi at the Kauvery Hospital in December last year. A group of DMK men threw wooden sticks and stones when his car came close to the hospital entrance.
